   I watched the show. John seemed to be really upbeat, but he seems to be that way anyway. Nothing new was added in terms of oil and gas finds although, I just have a gut feel that the Elijah well is going to have good results. The closer you are to Tamar the easier the digging? Selah! Upwards and Onwards. Investor in Eliot, Maine.

   Let’s be careful about applying, potentially uncertain, interpretations of Biblical references to the search for hydrocarbons in Israel. John Brown is right definitely about one thing. There is a lot of oil to be found in Israel – perhaps as much on a relative area basis as Saudi Arabia!! Just ask Exxon (1962) and Shell (1979). Their estimate of an upper limit of 2 billion barrels of recoverable oil is about the same order of magnitude as what I have mapped after a 37-year career with major oil companies and an 18-year association with Israel geology. Applying regional geology and basin analysis with geophysics has allowed me, b’ezrat HASHEM (with G-d’s help) to identify the operative petroleum systems and the traps to reservoir the generated hydrocarbons. Obviously, I can’t offer any more information except that the hydrocarbons MUST be there and currently awaiting the drill bit in the proper location. The more geology one can apply to an area, the more reduced is the risk. Those who explore with the proper mix of scientific methods and honest motivations, while always keeping in mind that the effort of the oil explorer be as truthful and comprehensive an attempt as possible, will be deserving of the good L-rd’s guidance and blessing.
