Oil Discovered in Northern Israel

Givot Olam's Meged 5 Well

In case anyone missed it last summer, oil has been discovered in Northern Israel. We’re not waiting for an oil discovery – it’s already happened! The oil has been/is being produced and sold. What’s more, the exploration company, Givot Olam, based its search for oil in Israel on Scripture. That’s right, oil has been discovered in Israel, based on Bible passages predicting the discovery and its location. The same Bible (Torah) passages used by my father, Jim Spillman, back in 1981 in his book, The Great Treasure Hunt. The same passages Zion Oil & Gas Founder John Brown heard Dad teach on a Zion Temple in Michigan thirty years ago and took to heart. Included Jacob’s Blessing, recorded in Genesis 49 and Deuteronomy 33, is the prophecy of a last days oil discovery. Jacob’s descendants will be blessed from the “deep that coucheth beneath”; “for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills, and for the precious things of the earth.” Issachar and Zebulun “shall suck of the abundance of the seas and of treasures hid in the sand.” Asher will “dip his foot in oil.”

The prophecy of oil in Israel isn’t going to be fulfilled someday – it is being fulfilled as we watch!

A January 13 Globes Article follows progress at Givot Olam’s Meged 5 well site; I’ll share a few excerpts here:

“Givot Olam Oil Exploration LP (TASE:GIVO.L), which is currently fracing (hydraulic fracturing) sections of its Meged 5 well and carrying out production tests, is seeking to cool investors’ enthusiasm after yesterday’s flare at the wellhead, which indicates the presence of fuel at the well. The scale of production, if any, is unknown, but the flare is a routine procedure during production tests.”

“A few months ago, Givot announced that production tests conducted during the summer produced an average of 382 barrels of oil a day. Fracing is now underway in sections 1-6 of the borehole to speed up the production rate, and production tests are underway of sections 7-8.”

Givot sold 6,000 barrels of oil produced during last summer’s production tests to Oil Refineries Ltd. (TASE:ORL) at the below market price of $60 per barrel. It cannot be ruled out that oil currently being produced is also being sold to Oil Refineries, and is why there are oil tankers at the wellhead. However, how much oil is being sold is not known.”

“A capital market source close to the matter told “Globes”, “When you peel away all the conduct of the past year, Meged 5 ultimately has something real.”

Givot’s Meged 5 is just the beginning of onshore oil discoveries in Israel. I believe Givot will drill more and produce much more in their Meged oil field.

Zion Oil & Gas, just to the north of Givot Olam, controls 327,000 acres of exploration territory and is in the final stages of drilling their fourth well, the Ma’anit-Joseph #3. In just weeks, Zion will be at its final depth of 19,000 feet.

With Israel’s recent gas discovery, the country is now staged to be natural gas independent (natural gas now powers some of Israel’s power plants and by the end of the decade, most likely, all electrical generation will come from natural gas fired plants). Noble Energy, one of the exploration partners on the gas discovery says they believe substantial oil reserves are under the gas fields.

Israel now has enough natural gas to supply its needs into the foreseeable future and for export. With the ongoing operations of Givot Olam, Zion Oil & Gas, Noble Energy can oil independence for Israel be far behind? I don’t think so.

What do you think?

This is great, fantastic news …May the Lord make Israel rich and the envy of the world …I’m praying God will bless Zion oil and John Brown as he leads the exploration team; and use them to bring in this wealth of oil for Israel.
Thank God for Jim Spillman’s early vision and his courage to teach and write on what God lead him to do… Its amazing what God has put this together for Israel through the obedience of his servants…

Thank you Steve for this information…MAM

The hunt for oil is driven partially by nesessaty and, largelly, by financial greed. Bible is not given or written to guide for the greed satisfaction.

Ditto – from another Gentile friend of Israel!

  7. sspillman on February 7th, 2011 7:55 am

    I’ll second that!

If you think this story is driven “largelly [sic], by financial greed”, then you haven’t read the story. I’ll be happy to send a good book (free) that tells the story. Just send me an address back.

My pleasure – do what John Brown asked me to help him do seven years ago – share the vision!

Thanks Dean (and everyone) for reading and commenting. This is ‘our’ site, not just mine.

Praise the Lord. Thanks for this news. If there is any way to invest a small amount in Israel please let me know. I am from India but as mentioned by Paul in Romans 13 27b for if the gentiles have shared in the jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the jews to share with them their material blessings. Would love to invest in case this oil company comes out with a public issue.

    Hi Fanny,

Steve, I sent you email. For the website readers I would like to mention that Israel imports 230,000 barrels of oil daily. So the numbers for oil being pumped within Israeli borders are negligable. Israel is rich in Hydrocarbon Deposit in the form of Oil Shale. 15% of Israeli land is either covered by OIL Shale, like in Negev, or contains Oil Shale Deposits several hundred meters under ground. The comparable Geology of different countries indicate that oil shale and liquid oil do not co-exist in the same area. The same is with bitumen. North Alberta has bitumen deposit exeeding oil equivalent of Saudi Arabia, but no liquid pumpable oil. But like Canadians, who process bithumen into syntetic crude oil on grand scale, Israelis can extract shale oil on more modest scale, which is capable to sutisfy internal oil consumption. And it can be done in Environmentally Responsible manner.

All I can say is wow, I had heard of the gas find but had missed this somehow. Must keep in better touch with the Business of Israel. We pray for Israel on an ongoing basis and are blessed that being from canada we have a prime minister that prays for Israel also. Very happy to here that Israel will be self suficient and hopefully become very prospress in these trying times. May God bless Israel with abundance, Amen.

I first started reading about Israel’s Oil & Gas this year- in actual fact it was just last month that I became aware that such a thing exsisted. My soul is glad and I am rejoicing with this news. I have ordered Spillmans book and am still waiting for a copy. However, I am a Bible believing Christian and I believe this is God’s blessing. I am a Papua New Guinean and I am proud and pleased to state that alot of other Papua New Guinean God fearing and Israel loving people will receive this news as water to a thirsty soul. We have been praying for Israel passionately. May God’s Prince of Peace be acknowledged in all this.

I sow this in the news the other day, I find it too good to be true, can anyone confirm this?

If you watch the video you will see that apparently the technology to get oil out of shale already exists or so Israel claims and supposedly Israel has as much if not more than Saudi Arabia which will make it the richest oil country in the world???

Did anyone hear anything about that?

Congratulations from Polish. We have shale gas, you have oil. Down with the Russian-Arab, gas-oil dictates.

  22. Ron on August 2nd, 2011 3:53 am

@ sHIRLEY fORD..True true my sister…prophesy has it that the King of the North, Russia, will go down to Israel to seek her oil..and when that happens…His coming is at Hand… Israel will now be poised to be the world’s largest oil exporter..and hen that happens…the beast will come down to make a covenant with Zion as Daniel Prophesied..but the beast will break her covenant with Zion..and as God raised nebchadenezzar to punish Israel’s enemies, so will God use the King of the North to punish the great whore and the beast and its image.. That was THUS SAITH THE LORD..and i believe it..God bless Israel, our timepiece…if you are a real gentile believer you will watch Israel to know what time we are at…and watch Russia the king of the north…

Never doubt the Holy Book. Everything written in It is true and correct. In this end-times, God will work even mightier to show the whole world that nothing and no one can defeat what He had blessed, Israel! To God be the glory forever. Let us all surrender to Jesus, our Lord and Savior, the Son of the living God, the God-incarnate, the One and only God of the universe! God be with you always!

Greatest news of God’s Ever-settled Word. God knew what He was doing, keeping the discovery till when Israel was gathered back to their land promised to Abraham, Isaac and Israel. If God was good not to leave sons of Ishmael without a blessing, because of Abraham, how muvh more will He bless the son of PROMISE- ISRAEL.. There will still be an UNDERGROUND AND DEEP-IN-THE-EARTH SETTLEMENT, where all the oil in nations around Israel will flow into the wells of ZION. just watch GOD. GOD BLESS ISRAEL & ALL CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM IN CHRIST JESUS.

None can overtake Israel. Blessed is Israel and its in her prosperity we live in peace. GOD BLESS ONE AND ALL in this great oil exploration work on Scriptural directions and principles.
