Open Letter from Zion Founder John Brown

March 18, 2010 by

As the editor of www.oilinisrael.net I get a lot of letters and a lot of opinions on what the exploration companies should be doing in Israel. The oil exploration companies, I’m sure, get a lot of them too. Sometimes they’re from stockholders, sometimes not. Most of the letters are encouraging and well meaning;  some are just … well, let’s just says they’re shortsighted. First of all, to those who have blessed this website and the exploration companies with encouragement and good wishes, thank you. It means more than you can imagine. To those brave souls who, based on very limited information, have advice on how the exploration companies can improve their efforts, this website welcomes the dialog; good ideas have come from all over … but if your thinking is crooked, don’t be upset if I straighten it – it is an open forum.

And then there are the message boards. Message boards are forums on the internet where like minded folks discuss their opinions on the topic at hand. And, opinions are like bellybuttons; everyone has one. The great thing about message boards are that they allow anyone to express an informed opinion. The bad thing about message boards is that they allow anyone to express an uninformed opinion as well. It’s up to the reader to sort them out. Zion Oil & Gas founder John Brown received a note this week regarding a few opinions that may or may not really exist on one of the more popular message boards. John responded with a thoughtful and (in my opinion) right answer. I asked him if I could share the note and the response as an ‘open letter’ to concerned message board inhabitants.

John Brown Sharing Vision

Letter to John: “Have you been watching the YMB (Yahoo Message Board).  Your stockholders are coming apart at the seams…esp concerning the new development of an update only once every 2 weeks.  Many feel that the job of Richard is to keep us more informed.”

Response: Dear xxxxx,

This may come as a shock to you but I am so focused on everyone (including Richard) in Zion spending all their time on finding oil that I do not personally look at any YMBs.  Why, because the only job we have is to find the oil which will bless both Israel (Gen. 12:2, 3) and our shareholders.  And if we have anything new to report, then we will; but if not, then we won’t.  While I am not personally involved in sending out these bi-monthly emails, I have suggested to Richard that we should just discontinue them and only update our website when we have something new to report.  I am not a person who believes in “Hype” or spending a lot of time holding people’s hands by trying to answer all their many questions. I have tried this, but I find that I’m not going to make everyone happy anyway and because of the diversity in Zion’s shareholders; i.e. charismatic or fundamentalist, Christian or Jew.  I am not going to allow myself to become involved in theological disputes or other controversial issues.  My personal wish is that instead of all these questions and answers, which only cause more questions or divisions, that we should all spend our time praying for others (including Zion). (Heb 10:35, 36)

My last comment is that we will still do our very best to communicate and be transparent, honest with our shareholders, but if anyone feels that is not enough than I would suggest that maybe they should ask God to change us or perhaps maybe they need to invest in another company that will do what they want, when they want.  In the meantime, I’m moving forward as fast as He allows us to fulfill the Vision (Ecc. 3:1) and hopefully that will make your shares more valuable. (Isa. 29:14)

For your information, I have spent over 29 years of my life and all the money I ever had on following this Vision that G-d gave me.  And I personally believe that we are very close to actually seeing the scriptures come to pass.  (Ro 4:20, 21)  So my suggestion to all these who need more communication or are coming apart at the seams is to be patient and wait for the vision to happen.  (Hab. 2:3) and quit complaining and murmuring (Ex. 16:2-15) and trust in Him and just rest in peace (Isa. 26:3, 4) (Isa. 32:17, 18) for: “Blessed are all they that wait for Him” (Isa. 30:15-18).

Shalom,

John M. Brown

Dear Steve & John – Brothers In The Faith & The Struggle For Zion.

I personally feel that the weekly updates were a great way of connecting the shareholders and supporters with the work at hand. I miss them as I’m certain many others do. Friday’s were a day of great anticipation as we watched the Zion story unfold with no small fascination. We actually felt part of the effort though separated by miles and time zones. The weekly updates also provided the opportunity to provide specific timely prayer support.

As for the grumblers, fault finders, nay sayers, and mumuring fools, they will soon vanish and be found no more. Until then, keep up the good work.

    Shalom,

    JT

As a Zion shareholder, I have only praise and gratitude for Richard Rinberg’s quite exceptional efforts to keep us informed.

Over the years I invested in hundreds of publicly traded corporations. I cannot recall any of them sending weekly or biweekly updates as Zion does. Most limit their communications to an occasional press release or something that accompanies their annual statement. They seem eager to inform financial analysts while keeping their shareholders in the dark.

I thank Mr. Rinberg for his gracious consideration of small shareholders like myself. I realize that the weekly e-mails must be a substantial imposition on his time and that given recent technical difficulties at the #3 well, there may be little progress from week to week, for some time.

John Brown is certainly correct in pointing out that patient waiting is an essential requirement in receiving anything from G-d. Abraham and Sarah waited many years for the birth of Issac. Joseph ben Jacob waited many years before his vision was fulfilled and he became Governor of Egypt. Samuel anointed David as king but it was many years before David was to sit on the throne.

The treasure that The L-rd has placed in Eretz Israel will be found at the time that He has appointed.

” But they that wait for the L-RD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”

    Shalom aleichem

I am encouraged by the Zion Oil story and share in the vision. And was encouraged by the Godly principles of tithing and giving and forming the two foundations to bless Israel and other less fortunate in the world. The job of the CEO is not to keep you and me informed on a regular weekly basis at the expense of their time which could be better spent in fulfilling the corporate vision and objectives. A lot of companies just announce the development every once or twice a year and so far I have not come across one that shareholders demanded to know the development every week (with the exception of this case). Even if there are some good news of any great discoveries, a responsible company would screen the news through several layers and checks to decide if there are any political or social implications and not just one sided just to please the shareholders. The stand from John in not fanning a hype to please the short-term and short-sighted wishes of some investors but conducting His affairs with integrity and professionalism is really respectable.

Good response John, Gods timing is everything. Your not behind or ahead of that timing, but right on the mark. On the day He has chosen for you, Zion will hit oil. We all need to be patient until that day arrives and wait on Him.

Our trust should not be in John brown, but in the God of heaven who has ordained Zion Oil to be in your life at this time in Israel’s history.

Keep the faith and keep drilling, don’t worry about communication boards, stay focused on God plan for your life. When we hear from you, we hear from you.

Amen John. No quarrel from me. You said it very well.
We all might remember another scripture about “patient continuance in well doing”, (Rom 2:7) one which I admit I am still learning about.

May the effort be blessed and Israel find rest when her Redeemer comes.

John Brown, you are the only CEO in any corporation that would take the time to fill in the missing blanks of what is going on in Israel. Christ will lay His hand upon all the faithful at His time, but we have to listen to Him. If it wasn’t for your mail, how can we pray for the project as you instructed all of us. The Lord hears our prayers. Amen.

    Dear John M. Brown:

I admire your dedication and effort to bring forth oil in Israel. Many years ago I was interested in exploring the area of the Dead Sea where bitumen was obtained in biblical times. Maps were available showing the complex geological formation of the Dear Sea area and locations where drilling by British oil companies occurred. Deuteronomy 32 predicts that oil will come from the Rock. The reference is not to crude oil but to anointing oil and the Rock is the Lord Almighty. Good Luck in your prospecting. Crude is selling for about $80 per barrel. Anointing oil coming forth from the Rock is priceless.

I had no Idea this site existed, I was researching on this prophecy to add a page regarding this on my website, I am glad I found this site.

John is correct is saying that he will inform when something comes up, which will surely do no point in speculating on nothing, just the same way as all of us are waiting for the temple to be re-built, whenever a little riot takes place on the temple mount we are all reacting and get exited for nothing. Everything will happen in G_Ds own time, we all have to be patient.

How does one become a shareholder here, I would like to put a link on my Website.

    Bless You All!!

    Paul

    Thanks, Mr. Brown.

I appreciate your Faith and diligence. I think we all do.

The same goes for Richard and Bill, Yezekiel, and all staff on down to the rig workers including the Turkish folk who have helped us go deep.

I’ll continue to Pray for Jerusalem, His land, and His people, along with Zion Oil to make a a good oil/NG find to help His returning people and His land.

    And His Prophetic plan.

    L’Shanna Tov,

    Paul
